On Saturday, April 13th we will be partnering with Johns Hopkins University to present a professional development leadership experience for our youth. Through "Taking it Back to Our R.O.O.T.S," prominent leaders from across Baltimore and the greater Maryland area will be facilitating personal and professional development workshops for Baltimore City and County youth from grades 6-12. The goal is for students to walk away with the charge of being the catalyst for change in their communities, "building their utopia." In order to address the ills of our community, we must first identify the problem and then go about figuring out a solution via a step-by-step process. Dr. King outlined the problems of a society and went about addressing those ills through marches and protests that awakened a nation long dormant to the struggles of the underclass. Please encourage the youth in your life to join us for this special day as we articulate our vision for the future in partnership with Baltimore's youth.
We are asking all students to complete a student application and submit it no later than Friday, April 5, 2013. No student will be denied admittance. If you are interested in having your students attend this event, please reach out to Juno Simmons or Jasmine Faison at 410-662-770 or by email at [email protected] or [email protected] |
