Congratulations to the students of Patterson Public Charter's robotics team, led by Rob Goltfelty (Baltimore '10), who were recently were named State Middle School Champions for the VEX Robotics Competition! Check out Cristina Duncan Evans' (Baltimore 2006) latest article, Teach For America's Education on Diversity on her EdWeek blog, Connecting the Dots: Ideas and Practice in Teaching, where she writes an engaging and insightful article about TFA's evolution on diversity issues. In case you missed it, this last spring we held our 2nd annual R.O.O.T.S. -- a day devoted to personal and professional development for STUDENTS of Baltimore City Public Schools. This past spring, we saw over 300 students attend this day, and we really look forward to holding our 3rd Annual event this year. Alumnae change agent recognized
A SOE alumnae, Yasmene Mumby, was recently recognized in the Christian Science Monitor for her efforts in helping to pass the landmark legislation to improve Baltimore School facilities. She co-chaired a coalition of 25 neighborhoods groups under the umbrella of the Baltimore Education Coalition.
