Reading Partners is a literacy nonprofit organization that engages community members to empower elementary school students through one-on-one tutoring. With just one hour/week, volunteers can teach a child the literacy skills he or she needs to be a confident and lifelong reader. Last year, 91% of students in Baltimore's Reading Partners program accelerated their rate of learning. Join the literacy movement and help a child gain the skills he or she needs to succeed. NewSchools is aiming to profoundly disrupt the current teacher preparation market by unleashing talent in generating bold, innovative solutions where the primary focus is on developing new teachers who are able to make student growth gains of at least one year from their first year as a classroom teacher. |
