Our Story: The Vision for Stony Branch Growers is to provide our customers access to healthy locally grown food that is produced in a highly sustainable manner. We strive to be respectful patrons of our farmland ecosystem. Stony Branch Growers is managed and operated by Alan Brauer Jr, a third generation family farmer. Alan’s father and grandfather bought their 215-acre dairy farm in 1962 and continued the family’s dairy operation until 1995. Due to family illness and retirements the farm transitioned into raising hay and row crops. 2013 is the inaugural growing season for Stony Branch Growers! For the past two years, Alan has been blessed with great growing seasons and strong relationships that have been built through his participation in local farmers' markets. He couldn't be happier for the opportunity to provide fresh, healthy and locally grown food directly to customers through Stony Branch’s CSA. 2013 CSA Details:

The Teach For America Alumni Awards for Excellence in Teaching are presented annually to alumni teachers who are transforming students’ lives through extraordinary leadership and an unwavering belief in the potential for all children to succeed.
In addition to being honored for their exemplary work, applicants impact current corps members, fellow alumni, and the future of our organization by allowing us to test, inform, and refine what we believe to be the teacher strategies most predictive of student achievement. 2013 Award Recipients

The Campus Kitchens Project is a national non-profit that empowers student leaders to create innovative and sustainable solutions to hunger. If hunger and food insecurity are issues in the community you serve and you want to make an impact on both the community need and the students you teach, consider starting a Campus Kitchen chapter at your school. Campus Kitchen students rescue food that would have gone to waste from their on-campus dining hall cafeterias and use that food to prepare and serve balanced nutritious meals food insecure residents in their communities. By getting involved with a Campus Kitchen, you students learn to see wasted resources as a sustainable solution to community issues and gain valuable service learning experiences, which build upon and enhance their work in the classroom. If you are interested in learning more about The Campus Kitchens Project or would like to start one at your school, please contact Matt Schnarr at [email protected].
